Air conditioning will not start or cool
No cooling, no response to the remote or an error code.
These are initial checks, not a diagnosis or repair instructions. Follow the exact equipment manual and site safety procedures.
Safe initial checks
- If there is no burning smell, leak or damage, check the selected mode, temperature setting and timer. Note any error code. Replace remote-control batteries only as described in the manual.
- Visually check that the air inlet and outlet are not obstructed. Do not remove service covers or touch internal parts.
- Check whether a central controller intentionally restricts operation. Start-up delays vary by model; consult the manual rather than repeatedly switching the power off and on.
What not to do
A burning smell, hot cable, repeated protective-device trips or a leak requires stopping operation and contacting support. Isolate power only from a safe, dry location if you know how to do so.
What to tell support
Provide the model, operating mode, temperature setting, error code and when cooling stopped.
